Using nano-magnesium oxide/bentonite composite for cadmium removal from industrial wastewater

Nowadays, the removal of toxic heavy metals from industrial wastewater is a long standing problem due to progress worldwide. This study mainly focused on production novel nMgO-bentonite nanocomposite using sol–gel method enhance Cd ions wastewater. The nano-composite was characterized for structural morphology and presence functional groups SEM/EDS, XRD FTIR analysis. Cadmium sorption equilibrium kinetic data were well fitted Langmuir power function models respectively as confirmed by highest R2 (0.965), lowest SE (38*10-6) values among other studied models. capacity 200 mg/g which 60 times greater than that bentonite. Increased with increased temperature 287 307K thermodynamic results revealed adsorption process endothermic spontaneous. also showed highly repetitive application during six cycles adsorption/ desorption experiment. final pointed out has great affinity could potentially employ cost-effective, ecofriendly efficient sorbent contaminated
